Catherine Louise Bowman

Catherine Louise Bowman, 82 years old, of Sweeny, TX. passed peacefully at Oak Village, Lake Jackson, TX on June 2, 2024. Cathy was born to Francis John Campbell and Catherine Louise Lynch on Sunday, January 11, 1942 at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Cathy married James Olan Bowman at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Arlington, Massachusetts on June 18, 1966.

Cathy worked for 26 years as a Librarian at Sweeny Elementary. Cathy graduated from Arlington High School in 1959, and Boston University in 1961 with an associate’s degree in Commercial Science. Her hobbies included spending time with her horses Baby, Prince, Nugget; working in her flower beds, sewing, crocheting, baking, playing with her cats, reading, watching hummingbirds, singing in the church choir at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Sweeny.

Cathy is preceded in death by parents, Francis & Catherine Campbell; husband, James Olan Bowman and sister, Margaret Major.

Cathy is survived by brother, Francis (Ann) Campbell; daughters, Jeannette and Kathleen Bowman; and granddaughter Amy (Anthony) McBride.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, June 07, 2024 at Restwood Funeral Home on 1038 West Plantation Dr. Clute, TX 77531, with the Visitation starting at 10:00am, followed by her funeral service at 11:00am.
