Dona graduated from Roosevelt High School, Fresno City College and then on to Fresno State, now known as California State University, Fresno, where she earned her Bachelor's degree. She taught home economics at Fresno City College. In addition, she was an interior designer and an accomplished seamstress.
Dona is survived by her husband of 67 years, Cecil Lee Leonardo; her son Joseph Michael Leonardo, daughter-in-law Cynthia Leonardo of Clovis, CA; her granddaughter Cassie Scholz of Clovis, CA, her grandson Brett Leonardo of San Francisco, CA, and her brother Joel Hassell of Tennessee.
Dona was preceded in death by her daughter Laura Diane Leonardo; her step-sister Carol Capriotti and her step-brother Charles.
A graveside service for Dona will be held Monday, April 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Clovis Cemetery, 305 North Villa Avenue, Clovis, CA 93612.
