Barney was born July 10, 1935 in Coalinga, California. In 1957 he wed his first loved, Mary. They resided in Auberry, California with their two children, Eric and Lisa, and were married for 42 years. The family owned and operated Ponderosa Market for 50 years before selling it to the current owners in 1999. That same year, their loving wife and mother, Mary, passed away.
Barney was blessed with love once again and married Pam Massenge in April of 2008. They shared many daily adventures and delightful family fishing trips on the Rogue River in Gold Beach, Oregon. His final fishing trip was in September of 2023 where he caught a whopping 28 lb. salmon, which made his whole trip.
Barney is survived by his wife, Pam Massenge-Amundsen; his daughter Lisa Marie Amundsen; his son Eric Jeffrey Amundsen and his wife Laura; his step son Kent Massenge and his wife Leah; his grandson Brett Amundsen and his wife Danielle, his grandchild Ethan Massenge, his great grandson Trent Amundsen and his great grandson Ryan Amundsen.
Barney was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Alice Amundsen.
A Celebration of Life for Barney will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Foothill Elementary School in the Multi-Purpose Room, 29147 Auberry Road, Prather, California 93651.
