Susan Dahl passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the age of 81. She was the loving wife of Thomas L. Dahl for 60 years. Susan was the beloved mother of Karen (Edward) Eskridge, Thomas (Dr. Kimberly Danta-Dahl) Dahl, Marybeth (Stephen) Betts, Denise Dahl, the late Susan Dahl, Yvette (Jason) Matta, and John (Julie) Dahl. She was the cherished grandma of Stephen (Abby) Betts, Kaitlyn Betts, Savannah Stuart-Dahl, Jennifer (Casey Cheney) Eskridge, Madelyn (Scott Johnson) Betts, Edward Eskridge Jr., Jillian (Mitchell) Smith, Jarrison Dahl, Delaney Dahl, Rylie Matta, Tyler Matta, Addyson Matta, and Avery Dahl. She was the dear great grandma of Tristen, Audae, Callie, Waldon, Roland, Eleanor, and Mia. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Sara Stonehill and her seven siblings.
Susan was a dedicated wife and mother to her beautiful family. She was a talented seamstress and made wonderful outfits for her children when they were younger. She was excellent at making her own jams, sauces, and canning every vegetable she could. Susan was also known for her signature dishes. Some of her recipes included baked beans, stuffed cabbage, and breaded steak. In her spare time, Susan enjoyed bowling and taking trips to the casino. As her family grew bigger, so did her love. She was blessed to have 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren in her life. Nothing was more important to her then her family and she made each one of them feel special. Her loving heart, beautiful smile and caring nature will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation for Susan will take place on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 2:00 until 9:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 9:30 am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 40501 Hayes Road in Sterling Heights. Friends may visit the church on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 am.
