I knew Nolan since we were six and at St. Luke. He was the only kid I knew when we transferred to St. John, and it was comforting to have someone familiar there with me.  He was a really incredible person and I’m thankful that he was such a strong part of my childhood. My condolences, my thoughts, and my prayers go out to the family and friends. I’m heartbroken over this news.

Nolan was on my first basketball team I coached at St. John. I was always so proud of his tenacity and drive to play and do well on the court. But getting to know him as one of “my boys” on that team… he was sweet and smart and thoughtful. He always came up to say hi, even after he graduated and I saw him at track meets and other events at LHN.  Your family continues to be in my prayers as you navigate life without this special kid, but I’m so glad he knew Jesus and that you all have the promise of reuniting one day. 💜

I meet Nolan through the One Piece and Weiss Schwarz card gaming community. The more I got to know him the more impressed I was of the kind of person he was. Our brief friendship grew over the same card games, background of music,  job/career of helping others, and our favorite One Piece character (Brook). This picture is from this past August at the All Blue in IL, when traveling back from a One Piece tournament in Peoria. I will miss his gravitating smile and laugh that would instantly brightened the card gaming group.

On our many trips around for competing in card games, it's always been a classic theme of ours to go to Five Guys after the event was over. Some loved it... Some were absolutely tired of it! While we were in Indianapolis and looking for lunch, low and behold what we stumbled upon, and it kind of became just a cute wholesome moment of us debating where we should go 😅

Please accept my sincere  condolences. I am so sorry for your loss. Nolan was my son's room mate at Concordia University and they were very protective of each other. This is such sad news, he was so young and he will definitely be missed.  Very nice young man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

There are so many things I can say about how Nolan was such a light in my life. I had the pleasure of meeting him when I was a sophomore in high school and my life has never been the same since. No matter what I was going through, Nolan was always there to pick me back up, let me cry it out, or kick someone’s butt for me. All of our memories will have a special place in my heart forever, I can promise you that. Nolan, you were such an amazing friend and there is nothing I can do to repay you for the kindness you’ve given me all these years. My heart hurts now that you’re gone, but I can’t wait until we can meet again. So much love goes out to you and your family ❤️

It is with the utmost sadness that I have learned of Nolan's passing. I have the Fondest Memories of Nolan in his early years. I will never forget living next door and talking to him over the fence one summer many years ago. He was in the backyard playing by himself on a hot summer day. Although I don't remember the substance of the conversation, I remember the water balloon wars that we had over the fence. Eventually, Nolan would come over to swim in our pool. We had water balloon wars and cannonball contests and many fun times, on many hot summer days. I will never forget the friendship of that great young man so many years ago. My warmest and most heartfelt condolences to Phillip, Shelly and their family for their loss and my sincere gratitude for raising a Joyful, kind and respectful young man.

Nolan was a very caring high school student who pushed himself to be there for his classmates and friends. It was a joy to see him pursue his love of music at Concordia Ann Arbor and continue hearing him perform at Boar's Head and in the pit for theatre performances. I am praying for Nolan's family and friends to take comfort in so much of the music Nolan performed that points to His savior Jesus and Heavenly Father who will comfort us until life eternal. "I lift mine eyes up to the mountains where does my help come from? My help comes from The Lord, the maker of heaven and earth... The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." Psalm 121:1-2, 8

To Nolan Belcher - 
Thank you for all the laughs and love, I was so lucky to have known you and been a close friend. I can’t even begin to say all the times you saved my ass and were there for me. Highschool wouldn’t have been the same without you there, I hope you are looking and down and smiling as we reminisce your life and accomplishments. You were unapologetically yourself and we will always treasure you 

Going bowling with you and having these seemingly small moments together ended up meaning way more than I could’ve ever imagined. You were always a fun guy to do fun stuff with. Miss you a ton.

Nolan came to my senior recital and to Kendra’s, which is where this was taken. He was a deeply caring person and showed it by taking the time to come to our events.

I met Nolan at Concordia University through Wind Ensemble and Marching Band. Every day with Nolan was a new adventure, especially with his jokes and sense of humor. Even once I graduated we continued to send stuff to each other on an almost daily basis that would make either of us laugh. I’m going to miss you a lot Nolan, sending lots of prayers to your family for healing.

Nolan was always the first one to crack a joke or make someone laugh. Whether he was hanging out in the music room before or after school with a group of us, or telling a wacky story from his day at lunch or in band, he never failed to lighten the mood. I’m sure that he is doing the same now in his Heavenly home.

I had the privilege of meeting Nolan in high school. He was always smiling and armed with many jokes and remarks that would make those around him smile also. 

Nolan made a huge impact on not only my life but those around him. He will be truly missed.

I went to Concordia University Ann Arbor with Nolan. Since I played the trombone, I would always be near him. Nolan was a very talented musician. He was hilarious and an overall good guy!

I wasn’t the closest to Nolan but I saw him on a daily basis. I am so sorry for your loss.

I got to know Nolan through esports when I first met him. Esports was a blast because of your great humor, you always cheered us up! I remember being so sad and happy at the same time when you broke your wrist, but you got to join the percussion section because of it. We got a lot done in that year due to the great bond we had between the whole section. It’s hard to remember a time when we weren’t laughing or having fun. I’ll miss you bud ❤️

Nolan, you will be missed so much. You were such a great member of our little family.

Nolan was one of the most caring, loving, and fun person I ever met. Through the time I knew him, he was always there for me. In any up, he would smile and express his joy. In any down, he knew how to comfort and knew he could be open about anything. Through any thick and thin, we always found our friendship in the end. It hurts knowing you’re gone, but I know that you will always be in our hearts. I love you so much. Rest now❤️

Nolan was a great friend to me for 10 years. No matter what was going on in our lives, he was always there for me. I’ll never forget how great of a friend he was.

It was an honor to get to teach Nolan. His genuine kindness and joy in others brought a peaceful joy to every room he walked into and it was a gift to get to see that happen daily. We will miss him. He is resting safe in the arms of his Savior and that brings comfort. Dear family and friends of Nolan, your Lutheran North family loves you, too, and you are all in our prayers.

Nolan was the kindest, sweetest individual I think I’ve ever had the privilege of calling a friend. Not only was he selfless, he was empathetic in all of the right ways. He light up every room he walked into; watching him pursue a career working with children truly illuminated what a gentle soul this man has. He never hesitated to help, reach out, of offer a hug when he knew you were having a rough time. I will remember that last hug forever. Rest easy Nolan, I will carry you with me always.

Heres a picture of Nolan and all of our friends he would hang out with outside of the card shop. I had taken this picture during the 2024 super bowl. He was his goofy self and made everyone around him happy. I will always miss his goofy laugh and his silly jokes.

Truly always was the life of the party. Hits harder now because it’s “homecoming” but rather instead of your earthly home it’s to your heavenly one. I love and miss you brother. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten. 

Nolan was someone who always made you smile. Sitting in front of him in band class was always my favorite because I got to hear his goofy commentary that he would say under his breath just to make those around him laugh. I truly think he was very formative and played a pivotal part in any music department student from North’s highschool experience. He was talented, always wanted to continue to grow, and would drop anything to be there for me if I was in need of a “friendship talk”. He always showed up. He was always there. Now is a time more than ever I’d appreciate one of those talks. But I know he is still here, and me and all of his friends will have one of our goofy talks and fellowship time again one day. Sometimes I don't have words
  I  can only feel the sorrow it's deep. No one can touch it for it is mine no one knows all the memories the times shared. They are mine.

This was the last day of Nolan’s trip to Indianapolis for the 2024 Indianapolis Pokémon regionals. We had called it the “family photo” of everyone from our friend group who had gone. It was the only time he had made the second day of competition. The night before he had been putting so much pressure on himself to do well. We spent most of the night trying to put him at ease enough to sleep. He didn’t do particularly well on the second day, but as we were getting ready to leave and head back to Michigan, he just couldn’t help but smile and be proud of himself and just relish in the amazing time he was having.

A few of Nolan and his friends had gone to the Armada Fair a few weeks before his passing. A lot of his friends had decided to dress up as cowboys and cowgirls, but their hats wouldn’t have stayed on when they went on rides. Nolan had volunteered to be the “hat tower” while they had gone on rides since he hadn’t planned to go on any.

I don't think there was a time where Nolan didn't smile or didn't try to make you happy when you're feeling down. It's hard to say that Nolan was my Best friend, because he still very much IS my best friend even though he's gone. 
Nolan is a VERY loved individual, and he loved us all in his own special way. When I found out he passed away, I felt my world stop, because how could Nolan, the sweet loveable person, the funny and Chaotic person just up and leave? 
He had the most kind soul, and you have an amazing son. 
I will miss him every day.

To the Belcher family:  I knew your son briefly through working together.  Nolan was a kind soul. I am glad I was privileged to meet him. Be very proud that you raised a fine young man.  I send my sincere condolences at this very difficult time.

So sorry for your loss. I know how difficult losing a loved one as my mother passed on the 24th. May God and family give you comfort.

When I first transferred to LHN my sophomore year, he was one of my only friends but he was one of my best friends. He always showed he cared about you. Nolan was in choir with me and always made me laugh. and even when I was going through hard times I could always reach out to him and know he would always be there to help. He is one of the sweetest guys i’ve ever met. 

A bunch of us went out to a park one night and got Little Caesar’s  Pizza  and we all sat out in the grass eating pizza and running around playing on the play sets. Nolan was always chasing me and playing tag or whatever crazy games the group was playing.
