Melissa Kwiatkowski, age 33, of Macomb, Michigan, passed away at home surrounded by loving family on September 8, 2022. Melissa was the treasured wife of Paul Kwiatkowski Jr; Beloved daughter of Leonard and Joyce Zwolinski; Loving sister of Andrea Weber (Terry) and Chad Zwolinski (Lindsey); Cherished aunt of Landon, Peyton and Easton Weber and Jude and Abigail Zwolinski; Dear daughter-in-law of Paul Kwiatkowski Sr. and Denise White (Will); Dearest sister in law of Mitchell Kwiatkowski and Danielle Kwiatkowski.
Melissa leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her family, and fiercely adored her nieces and nephews. Melissa attended Oakland University to obtain both her bachelors and masters degrees, and was a teacher with International Academy, where she taught IB History. She loved to read, eat tacos, and travel. She was a big supporter of organ donation, as she herself was a recipient of a donor liver. To her family and close friends, she is the strongest person they know. Melissa will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 2-9 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038. A brief in-state will follow on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 9 AM until time of the funeral mass at 9:30 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 40501 Hayes Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48313. Final resting place, Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the specific program, Transplant Institute - Center for Living Donation with Henry Ford Health (donation link below).
