He was a graduate of St. Hyacinth Grade School and St. Stanislaus High School in Detroit. He attended U of D and graduated with a degree in Criminology from MSU. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea towards the end of the Conflict.
Ken later worked for 36 years as a Probation Officer with the Department of Corrections out of the Mt. Clemens office. He took up puppetry and magic and loved to entertain. Mt. Clemens Public Library recognized his contribution after 25 years of performances there as 'Daren Dundee'.
During his nearly 28 years of retirement, he exercised his creativity entertaining and artistically. He enjoyed his interaction with the Mt. Clemens Art Association and remained active in the Detroit Puppeteers Guild. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Mary Ellen Samoray; his sons, Michael Samoray and Peter (Aylin) Samoray; step-children, Monica (Steve) Jakubos and Jason (Julie) Worner; grandchildren: Luc, Max, Gabriel, and Gianna Samoray, Beth Wagner, Brett Wood, Brianna Wood, Ashley and Austin Worner; sister, Janice Samoray; and nieces, Alexandra (John Welch) Haddad, Natalie Haddad, and Julia Welch.
The family will greet friends from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 21400 S. Nunneley, Clinton Twp. Interment with military honors will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, June 28 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
