Gerald J. Lefaive, age 80, passed away on December 19, 2024. A dedicated and kind-hearted man, Gerald was the beloved husband of Sharon for 24 wonderful years, during which he devoted himself to her with unwavering love and compassion.
He was the cherished brother of Joan Ribarsky and Richard Lefaive and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Gerald was also deeply grateful for the friendship and support of his neighbor and caregiver, Barb Dinger, whose kindness he held close to his heart.
Gerald had a successful career as a rockstar salesman and purchaser for Peerless Steel, where he worked for 14 years before retiring in 2006. Known for his sharp wit and remarkable work ethic, he made a lasting impression on his colleagues and stayed in touch with many of them long after his retirement.
In his free time, Gerald embraced the outdoors and his love for fishing. Known for always having the perfect lure—and a spare just in case—he relished the thrill of the catch and the camaraderie of pranking his fishing buddies on trips. He also enjoyed hunting, boating, and bowling, often juggling three bowling leagues at once during his peak years.
A man of quiet generosity, Gerald was a caregiver at heart. He lovingly cared for Sharon and other family members in their times of need, always lending a helping hand without seeking recognition. His selfless acts of kindness and devotion left a legacy of love and service that will not be forgotten. Gerald was also a godfather to several of his nieces and nephews. It was a profound honor and a sacred responsibility that he took to heart as their role model of Christian values and virtues.
Gerald’s life was a testament to loyalty, humor, and generosity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and forever remembered for the joy, care, and laughter he brought to others.
A visitation for Gerald will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Gerald will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, MI.
In memory of Gerald, memorial donations are appreciated to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
