He is the beloved husband of 56 years to Catherine; Loving father of Mark Robert (Karen) and Michael Francis (Pamela); Treasured grandfather of Trevor Robert, Kyle William, Nolan Robert, Quinn Matthew, Ashlyn Catherine, and Connor Michael; Dear brother of Anne Pizzuto; also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Melrose, Massachusetts and grew up in the neighboring town of Wakefield. He attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Humanities, an accomplishment of which he was very proud. During college he participated in ROTC, and later joined the United States Army, serving for 4 years in the Army Air Defense Command (ARADCOM), and was honorably discharged with a final rank as Captain. Bob went on to obtain an MBA in International Business through University of Michigan. As a resident of Clinton Township, Bob served as a member on the Clinton Township Zoning Board of Appeals for over 20 years, and additionally as a board member of the Resolution Center in Mt. Clemens. He was also a man of faith, and was an active member of the St. Michael Catholic Community since 1977. Bob loved to golf, and volunteered as a golf course rater for the Golf Association of Michigan.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 3-8 PM, with a scripture service at 7 PM, at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038. An Instate visitation will follow on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 10:30 AM, until time of the funeral mass at 11:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Community, 40501 Hayes Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan, 48313. Final resting place, Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Michael Catholic Community.
