Marc F. Brunswick, 67 years old of Westbrook CT, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, Beloved son of the late Ernest and Hilda Brunswick, he is survived by his sister Eve Appleton of Cincinnati, OH and brother, Jacques Brunswick of New York City.
Marc was born in Roslyn Heights, NY. He joined the Vista community on Connecticut’s shoreline in 1992 after reading about it in a flyer describing the program. At the time he was living in a group home in Lee, MA. He lived in the dormitory for two years and then moved into the shared home at Seaside House in Westbrook. Marc then moved to Canterbury Commons, where he was thrilled to have his own studio apartment in Clinton. When Settlers Landing in Westbrook first opened, Marc became a founding member of that community. He lived there until his passing under Hospice Care.
Marc enjoyed music. In his younger years he wrote songs and played the piano. As he grew older, he spent much of his time listening to his vast CD collection of music from the 1960’s and 70’s. Marc enjoyed talking to people of all kinds. He would always tell you what was on his mind. He had an uncanny memory for people’s individual quirks and charms.
Marc was known for his jokes and charisma. He valued his skill at finding the best deals at all the local antique and thrift stores. He was proud to live in the community with Vista Life Innovations peers and staff. The Brunswick Family would like to thank all of the staff at Vista for helping Marc create a life for himself there.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later time. Donations in Marc’s honor can be sent to The Vista Endowment Fund In Memory of Marc Brunswick, 107 Bradley Road, Madison, CT 06443.
