Shirley Laverne Jones

On January 10, 2023, Shirley Jones received her wings and went to walk with the angels. She was 66 years old. Shirley was born in Sturgis, Kentucky to Isaiah Dulin and Leavie Shackelford.

She attended John Hay High School and worked as a nurse's aide for many years and in school transportation before retiring. Shirley loved playing cards, bingo, karaoke, and listening to gospel music. She enjoyed hosting parties and gatherings at her home and feeding people a good meal. Shirley was charismatic and had a knack for making new friends. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved the Lord and was a long-time member of In Touch for Christ Christian Ctr. Inc. under the leadership of Bishop Prince J. Moultry.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Oliver Dulin, Sam Dulin, Pete Dulin, Ed Dulin, James Dulin, William Dulin, Robert Dulin, Alice Williams, Sandra Birmingham, and Patricia Banks.

Shirley is survived by her loving and devoted family including, sister Joan McNeil of Columbus; children Robert Jones (Tenesha) of Cleveland, Tanisha Rutledge (Rodney) of Cincinnati, DeShawn Jones of Cleveland; companion Mychal Jones of Cleveland; stepmother- Valerie Dulin of Cleveland; grandchildren Jasmine, Jocelyn, Rokeba, J'Khary, Aaliyah, Savannah, Shamar, Jabreal and Ameerrah; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A wake for Shirley will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 PM.
