Sherri attended Columbia Elementary School, Empire Jr High & The Old Glenville High School. She graduated from Shaw High School. She was the proud mother of one son – Shaun, daughter-in-law – Christina, and grandmother of Alana Brown. She loved helping others, music, the medical field, and her video & computer games. But most of all, she loved God and her family.
She was acquainted with the Lord at an early age. She attended St. James A.M.E. Church where she was a Junior Sunday School Teacher at age 12. From St. James, she attended Church of the Incarnation where she sang in the choir and did volunteer bookkeeping for the church. She later joined St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of East Cleveland where she taught Sunday School for a while and was a member for over thirty years. Her last church home was Calvary Hill. Various jobs were Juvenile Court, Central Police Station, City of East Cleveland where she was Secretary of the Finance Department. She was very instrumental in having the Secretarial and Technical Employees being unionized by Local 925.
She left City of East Cleveland and went back to the Federal Government where she was injured on the job and was retired permanent and total disability in 1996.
