Robin E. Laster was born to the union of Joe L. Calhoun and Yvonne A. (McCurdy) Calhoun (both Deceased). She was the eldest of eight siblings: Brenda (Keith), Gail, Donald, Susan (Ronald deceased) Janet, JoAnn and Pamela.
Robin attended Cleveland Public Schools. She had two sons, Rodney Calhoun (deceased) and Raymond Calhoun. Years later she met and married Rickey Laster (deceased) and from that union Ricardo Laster was born. Robin and Rickey spent every waking moment together laughing, joking, playing board games, and experiencing real life situations.
She loved taking care of children and inspiring their creativity. She loved babies and children so much that it led her to becoming a foster parent. All the children in the neighborhood loved her for taking time to listen to them, hug them and feed them. (All of her children followed in her footsteps of loving children)
She was a devoted Jehovah's Witness, who attended the Kingdom Hall in East Cleveland, and witnessed to people by going door to door. (If you spent a night at her house you were going to the Kingdom Hall, participating in bible study and helping clean up)
She was very crafty and creative. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and making self-drafted patterns out of newspaper, each piece sewn would become a masterpiece worn by her or the people she loved. She would visit the fabric store just to feel the soft materials and look at the beautiful bright colors while envisioning her next project. She was bold in her fashion selections, loved to stand out, and complimented others on their appearances.
In her free time, you could find her tucked away reading a romance novel, or out bargain shopping, singing, dancing, playing games or listening to music.
Her grandchildren had a special place in her heart. She leaves to mourn eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a nephew, and a host of nieces, friends, family and extended family.
