Ray H. Durst, aged 76, went to meet his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, August 12, 2018. Ray was preceded in death by his father, John E. Durst; mother, Rosie Durst; step-mother, Mary Catherine Durst; brothers, J.E. Durst & Leonard S. Durst; sisters, Waneda Metts and Ada Faye Forsythe; brother-in-law, Howard Forsythe; and sister-in-law, Nancy Walters. He is survived by his wife, Jolene; daughters, Deadra (David) Copley and Debra (Jeffrey) Douglas; grandsons Jeff “Scott”, and Steven Douglas; as well as brothers Frank (Leah) Durst and Gene (Linda) Durst; step-brother Billy (Debbie) Schradel. Surviving family members also include brothers-in-law Harry Walters and Paul Metts; sisters-in-law Eleanor Durst and Joy Durst; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Ray was originally from SW Pennsylvania but resided in the Cleveland area for over 56 years. He worked in the commercial meat packing and distributing industry for 50 years, retiring from Blue Ribbon Meats. Ray was very involved in the Free Methodist Church children’s ministries in the 1970s and 1980s, and later attended the Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and camping.
