Mr. James W. Barrett was born August 12, 1934 in Macon, Georgia to John Jack Barrett and Annie Mae Williams Barrett.Mr. Barrett held several positions in Cleveland;he was a Police Officer for the City of Cleveland, Magistrate, Buffalo Soldier, 1st black Safety Director for the City of Cleveland, he formed the political action committee G-Pac now known as the Carl Stokes Brigadeand wasChief Security Officer for Carl Stokes just to name a few. He was also involved in several community organizations including the Urban League and wasthe founder of the Minority Recruitment for Black Police Officers.He was preceded in death by wife Peggy Ford Barrett and 3 siblings.James Barrettpassed away peacefully on April 6, 2019 at Beachwood Pointe Care Center.He leaves to cherish his memory beloved children; Marcus Barrett, Scott Barrett, Daryle T. (Sharon) Foxx, Cynthia Ford, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, siblings; George (Mary) Barrett, Shirley Washington of California andmany nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends.
