Jerry Jordan

Jerry Jordan affectionately known as “Baby” was born September 10, 1946,

in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born to the union of Austin Jones and Arline

Richards. Jerry was the third of eight children to this union of love. She

is preceded in death by her loving parents; two brothers: Austin Jones and

David Jones; and four sisters: Esther Blevins Martin, Barbara Ann Jones

Clay, Diane Jones, and Mildred Jones.

Jerry dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of

Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, formerly known as St. Gregory/St. Margaret

Mary. Later her love of Christ was so great, Jerry became a Knight at Our

Lady of Lourdes Shrine.

Jerry attended Catholic Schools where she graduated. On April 18, 1980,

Jerry married the love of her life David Jordan. To that union one child

was born David and a stepdaughter Davina who preceded her in death.

In her early years Jerry worked as an Inspector for Ford Motor Company

where she retired after 20 years of service. After retirement Jerry worked

for Metropolitan School District as a Crossing Guard until she retired in

May 2023.

Jerry had many hobbies inside and outside the house. She enjoyed traveling,

fishing, gardening, playing cards, volunteering for church, holding small

parties, and music. Jerry made it her business to attend as many family

gatherings as possible but most of all spending time with her sisters. Jerry

made it her business to keep the family in laughter demonstrating how she

could roller skate backwards to music. Some of her greatest memories were,

when her grandchildren were born and seeing the first Black President of

The United States Barack Obama.

Jerry leaves to cherish her memory, her loving son David Jordan (Angela);

Sisters Frances Brock and Wydena Foster (Kenneth); Step-brother and

sister, Gregory Avery and Wendy Avery; Four grandchildren an Aunt; Two

Uncles; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, extended

family members and friends.

A visitation for Jerry will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A wake will occur Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112. An interment will occur Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Cleveland Memorial Gardens, 4324 Green Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44121.
