Isaiah Spralling II was born on June 16,1937 in Akron Alabama to Mary
Julia and Isaiah Spralling. Isaiah was the first born and oldest child of the
seven children that Mary Julia and Isaiah were blessed with.
Isaiah grew up in Akron Alabama where he was very active and smart
young man. He attended First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev.
Morris. He was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ at a young age.
Isaiah was educated in Akron Alabama and once he completed his schooling
(according to Dad) he left Akron and headed to Cleveland Ohio. Isaiah
and his cherished cousin Estelle Willis moved to Cleveland together to
find their dream. Isaiah worked several jobs saving his money and working
toward his dream. While Isaiah continued to work diligently his cousin
Estelle decided to return home to Akron. Isaiah and Estelle remained very
close until Estelle passed away several years ago.
Isaiah continued to work hard and developed an excellent work ethic. He
finally landed a position with City Blue Printing Company in 1958. He
soon thereafter met his lovely wife Huldah, and they married in 1958 as
well. 1958 was an exceptionally good year for Isaiah.
He started his tenure with City Blue Printing Company as a Delivery
Assistant and worked his way up to Chief Business Officer. He became the
right-hand guy to the CEO and President of the company, Mr. Gordon.
Whatever tasks needed to be done Isaiah was the man. He ensured the
work was accomplished and the completed work was excellent. He loved
working at City Blue Printing Company where he coached and trained
numerous employees during his tenure. He worked for City Blue Printing
company until the then private company was sold. He worked there for a
total of 45 Years.
Isaiah was a family man. He loved all his family members. He and his
beautiful wife Huldah had six lovely children while they were married. He
loved his extended family as well. He was close to his sisters and brothers.
He was affectionally referred to as “Jr.” He adored his grandchildren Marcy,
Patrice, Josh, and Giovani. He enjoyed an incredibly special relationship
with his grandchildren. He also was remarkably close to his incredibly
sister-in-law, Therese Spralling. He loved his adorable nieces and nephews
as well. He often shared many stories of all the wonderful family reunions
in Akron Alabama. He frequently boasted of his sister Lillie’s collard
greens and corn bread.
Isaiah spent the last few years of his life at Menorah Park Nursing home.
He received the best care and support of his family and friends while there.
Isaiah was called home with his family by his side on September 17, 2023.
Isaiah was preceded in death by his parents, Isaiah and Mary Julia, his
brother Lark Spralling, his wife, Huldah Spralling and sister Mamie Lee
Brasfield.
Isaiah leaves all the following to cherish his memory; His children
Nathaniel Spralling, Linda (Mike) Prince, Rita (Herbert) Williams, Beverly
(Ex Husband James) Vincent, Huldah (Carl) Mills, and Isaiah Spralling
III. His wonderful grandchildren Marcedes, Patrice, Josh, Giovanne, James
Vincent III( Jasmin & Janai), Amber, and Philip. His great grandsons,
Braylen, Rex, and Isaiah. He also leaves his sisters Mary Jean (Al) Fields,
Mamie, deceased (Ophalandus) Brasfield , Lillie (WC Deceased) Wilson,
Mary Ella (Tony) Johnson and brother Emmit Spralling. He also leaves
Theresa Spralling, special sister n law, and all his beautiful nieces and
nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
A visitation for Isaiah will be held Monday, September 25, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A wake will occur Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44112. An interment cleveland memorial garden will occur.
