I saw a shooting star last night and thought of you!

Elaine had an incredible intellect, one of the smartest people I have ever known. She was so authentic and genuine, that it made you be authentic and genuine with her. She was kind and caring and a voice for the unseen  and the underrepresented. A dear friend and a co-worker in Washington,  D.C. Once as a reporter, Elaine followed a male government official into the men's restroom when he tried to avoid her questions.

Elaine was loved and respected and admired my many.

It may be a cold, snowy Christmas Day in Cleveland, but, I sure wish you were here to share warm memories of tennis and life. Thank you again, Elaine, for being a jewel in my life.

I’m very saddened by your passing.
 I didn’t learn of it until this evening.
So many years have passed since I last saw your smile. You where a bright spot on the horizon.
I miss hearing from you about your Indians and how they’ll always be next year. With me being a Red Sox fan In the 80s we would commiserate with each other.
I hope that there is peace for you. You’ll always be missed

I always wanted to be close to you.  It's more than a carpenter thing --- but something I always wanted to build.

Though winter, summer, spring or fall come and go...you season my life with fond memories of you...gracias

Thought of you today, Elaine...sure wish you were a phone call away...

Missing you today while remembering just how fun it was just being around you.  I stopped playing tennis 40 years ago.  Hard to believe tennis meant so much to us in the summer of 1973 when it was our world.  Wonderful memories I cherish and treasure.  Thank you, Elaine, for the sunshine you brought to me and many others.

I travel time passages to a certain place with you, Elaine...a blissful memory of the way we were...I will always adore and cherish.

I love you Elaine --- think of you daily!

Carefree summer days at Gunning's Tennis Courts.  Visions of you, Elaine Rivera, and those precious times...wish I could turn back the years.  Thoughts of you always, muchacha bonita, will spice my life to the end.  Thank you.

"Could It Be I'm Falling In Love" by the Spinners...while laying in my bed yesteryear, I could hardly count the times when I thought of you, Elaine, as this sweet song played over the radio...sure missing you tonight *sigh*.

There is not a day I don't think of you, Elaine.  You were sunshine on a rainy day --- te amo para siempre.

The saddest moment is when the person who gave you the best memories, becomes a memory.

Thank you for all the rosy days you left us.

It is hard to imagine Christmas without you.

Although your life was cut short; I have loved you for a thousand lifetimes.
