Bessie M. Barrett

Bessie May Barrett was born on June 30, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama

to the late Irene and Clifford Parker.

Bessie confessed Christ at an early age. She attended the Cleveland Public School System.

Bessie met and married William Barrett in 1944, and to this union 7 children were born. William, Elaine, Ronnie, Bernadine, Larry and 2 children who preceded her in death, Carolyn "Big Red" and Anthony.

Bessie May Barrett worked at St. Vincent Hospital as a nurse aide until she retired. After retirement, Bessie found a passion in teaching for the Cleveland Public School District.

In her free time Bessie loved going to football games, watching the Cavs games, Family Feud and America Says. Bessie loved playing Bingo and most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.

On March 31, 2022 at 11:05 am the Lord visited her bedside at University Hospital, set her spirit free, and took Bessie to her eternal rest.

Bessie leaves to cherish her memory to her children: William (Brenda) Barrett, Elaine Reed, Ronnie (Yolanda) Barrett, Bernadine (David) Barrett Zinnermon, Larry Barrett 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. 1 niece Linda Williams, 1 nephew Hayward Williams, 1 brother Billy Williams (who preceded her in death) 1 grand daughter Shantrell Reed (who preceded her in death) 1 special friend whom also preceded her in death "Mr. Bellgrave".
