My dearest mom,
One year ago today, you left us, we had no time to say goodbye,you were gone before we knew it. My heart still aches, I think of you everyday and sometimes tears just flow. I wanted to call you so many times just to talk, I still talk to you just not on the phone. I hope its true what they say about heaven, that you meet your family again, because than I would know that your happy being with your mom and dad. I know that you miss us as much as we miss you, family was so important to you. Dad is doing Ok, he has bad days and good days, he misses you terribly, as we all do, were taking care of each other like you would of wanted. I found this poem that tells you how I feel.
THOUGHTS OF YOU
I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new, I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name, all I have are memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part. God has you in his keeping, I have you in my heart.
Mom, the family is coming to visit you today and then were all going to church in your honor. I know your going to be there with us, probably sitting in the front pew, like you always did.

Today is Sept 16, the day before God took you to be with him. I remember talking to you that night, saying are goodnights and as always you would say I love you, I never imagined that would be the last time I would hear your voice. It doesn't feel like a year.
I still remember everything about you, your voice, your smile, your touch. The way you walked, the way you talked, and the way you looked at me. I remember moments we shared, seems like only yesterday. You are gone from me now, but one thing that can't be taken away is that your memory is inside my heart, and lights up my darkest days.

I have the most amazing news, Mason James Smalley was born Sept. 13 at 1:16 pm. He is 8lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long. But you already knew that because you were with Mike and Melissa giving her your prayers and strength to deliver their precious son, my grandson, your great-grandson. He will never have the honor to know you in person but we will make sure he will know his great-grandmother. Mom your his angel now. Watch over him and keep him safe.

Even today, five days later, your death still does not seem real to me. Every morning, I wake up thinking it was all a bad dream and that I will be able to call you and hear you tell me how much you love me and how "you just called to hear my voice." Everyday, I wake up only to regret not talking to you more often, and not listening more closely to all your wonderful, beautiful stories. I hope (and know) you will forgive me now that you are gone, because thats the kind of person you are. You were the most loving, caring, amazing person and I was so lucky to know you and have you in my life. You have impacted so many peoples lives even if just by sharing your stories or saying hello to someone on the street. You always put others before yourself and I, amoungst many others, cannot thank you enough for that. Im so blessed that you had such amazing morals an amazing way of living life because you raised my mother to be just like you, and she is. Although I am so sad that you have passed, you deserve to be in Heaven with God, where I know you are free of pain and happy. I can only pray that the days without you get better soon and that you watch over each of us closely. You were the greatest Nana anyone could ever ask for, and I wish I would have told you that while you were still alive. I hope you know that even though I didnt always say it, doesnt mean I didnt believe it. I miss you Nons. Thanks for all the beautiful memories. I know our paths will meet again some day but until then, dance with all the angels, and watch over me closely!

As we get older things seem to change and it's the little things that matter the most at these times.  I keep thinking about all the family gatherings and your Mom was a consent at the Coreno's parties - I think I can find a picture of your Mom from my own baptism many, many years ago to my nieces & nephews parties. Most recently my niece Alexandra's First Communion in April and she looked great - Blue dress and white sweater.   

She always said something positive to me about me and it wasn't just a polite pleasantry we seem to hear a lot - it was always from her heart.  She will be missed by all that had the pleasure to meet her.

Mom,
You never wanted your family to hurt, but this is the worst pain I have ever felt. I know its not your fault, you could never purposely hurt me, God took you to work with him. Im sure he had a special plan for a special woman. I still need you mom, you were always there for me, you never let me down, and I pray that I never let you down.  You have the biggest heart everyone else came before you. I want to thankyou for being my mother, the most wonderful, caring, loving woman I know, you will always be in my heart, and I will never forget your voice, your laugh, your expressions, your touch you always hugged me like it was the last time, and now it is, your kisses and telling me you love me everytime we parted in person or on the phone. I know mom at the end you were just tired and God knew that.
