Dear Michael, Edie, Danny, Sue, and your families, 

Sivana and I send our heartfelt condolences to you all, and to all who mourn the loss of your beloved Marcia.  We loved her, and loved the amazing memorial service that filled the sanctuary with so many of your wonderful memories of Marcia.  May those and other memories provide you with a measure of comfort even now, at this difficult time.  (And what a fine voice and even finer heart Cantor Kathryn Wolfe Sebo has.  Sivana, who has never been one to go to services, said that if she lived in Cleveland, she would want to join the cantor’s synagogue!  We are glad that the cantor and Marcia were such good friends.)

Many years ago I had the great fortune to meet and befriend Edie Ungar.     Along with Edie I was welcomed into her whole family-- such a blessing for someone like me who had no relatives in Cleveland.    Marcia and Buddy welcomed me with warmth and generosity.   That love extended to my husband and later to my daughter.     My mother moved to Cleveland 2 years ago and Marcia embraced her wholeheartedly with warmth and much appreciated friendship.        Marcia had a big heart with room enough for everyone.     I feel so lucky to have known her and immensely grateful for my friendship with her daughter Edie, who inherited her  great capacity for loving others. 

My dearest Marcia. A piece of my heart chipped away when I heard about your passing. I will always remember the good times we had. I was not just your driver I was a friend and you were my friend. I enjoyed going shopping with you and look at funny greeting cards and start laughing out loud. We always had something to laugh about. Thank you for showing my children how a piano works when they came over that one time. Thank you for taking the time to get to know them a little. I thank you for all your advise and wonderful stories of your life. You had an amazingly big life and you are a amazing person. Always looking be checking on you when I did not see you for a couple of days or just saying hi on my way out with a drive while you were sitting at the piano. Love you forever Marcia.

It was because of me that we parted ways because my life turned into so many difficult challenges that  I wasn’t able to give to Marcia the friendship in our later years that she wanted… but I never ever stopped loving her, thinking about her and  remembering our wonderful memories.
