Stephen T. Banner

Stephen T. Banner of Pfafftown, NC passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011, after a long fight with cancer. He was born September 30, 1945 in Winston-Salem to the late Bill and Eula Banner.

Mr. Banner retired from the Winston-Salem Journal in May 2011. He was a member of the United States Army serving honorably from April 1968 until May 1971 and was a member of the local American Legion Post for several years. Mr. Banner was a proud member of Calvary Baptist Church and Orchestra

Surviving family includes his wife Tennia; son Michael; daughter Colleen; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Stephen T. Banner will be conducted on Monday, June 13, 2011 3:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 5000 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem (336-765-5542). Burial will follow, with full military rites at Forsyth Memorial Park. Mr. Banner will be lying in state at Calvary Baptist Church on Monday from 2:00 PM until service time.
