Sarah Dot Bodenheimer McCune

She was born on May 4, 1923 in Winston Salem to the late Samuel Eugene and Hettie Lewis Bodenheimer. Sarah retired as a nurse in 1988 from Forsyth Medical Center. She was a member of Robinhood Road Baptist Church.

Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Mac” McCune; her son, Frank McCune; and her siblings, Ernestine Hartman, Harriet Funk, and Marshall Bodenheimer. She leaves behind her children, Dale (Cindy) McCune, Mary Hall, Stephen (Wendy) McCune, and James (Robin) McCune; her grandchildren, Travis, Ben, David (Erin), Ryan (Traci), and Lee; her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Liam, Parker, Zane, Reese, Rowan, Carli, and Maddi; her sister, Clarice Henderson; and many other loved ones.

The family would like to say a special thank you for her caretaker, Michelle Hill, and the hospice team for their compassion and kindness.

The visitation will be Tuesday, January 23rd at 1pm at Robinhood Road Baptist Church, 5422 Robinhood Rd. The funeral service will begin at 2pm with Pastor John Hackworth officiating. Burial will follow at Waughtown Cemetery. Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
