Mrs. Tate was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown for over 30 years.
As a farmer’s wife, Juanita, had a special love for flowers, gardening, cooking, and her ducks, rabbits, guineas, and peacocks.
She was very talented at crocheting and knitting and provided each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren with special blankets made with love.
Mrs. Tate retired from Western Electric/AT&T after 29 years of dedicated service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Tate and 5 of her siblings.
She is survived by her brothers, Moir Hunter (Fern) of Pfafftown, NC and Walter Hunter (Chappel) of Bethania, NC; children, Sandra Van Belois (Kent) of Fayetteville, NC, John Tate (Lenora) of Ringgold, GA, Elsie Deatrick (Dan) of St. Patrick, MO, Carolyn Caudle (Daniel) of Pfafftown, NC, and Richard Tate (Shirrie) of Pfafftown, NC; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
The family would like to give special recognition to Oscar, her faithful furry companion for over 5 years.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Community Home Care & Hospice especially to Kay, Haleigh, April, and Sara for the care and support given to Juanita.
The funeral service will be Thursday, January 9, 2014, 3:00 pm, at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel with the Rev. Dan Deatrick and the Rev. Reginald Kimbro officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2014, 6:00-8:00 pm, at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel.
Interment will be at Forsyth Memorial Park following the funeral service.
