Joyce Ann Lyda Bishop of Lexington NC passed away at the age of 75 on May 17, 2023. She was born to Leonard Lee Lyda & Edith Allen Lyda on August 18, 1947. She was raised in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC and was number nine of 10 children. She was beautiful in every way and an exceptional wife and loving mother. She cared deeply for her family, friends & neighbors.
Joyce was a graduate of AC Reynolds High School in Asheville and Homemaker who loved to cook and garden. She attended Union Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roger Dale Bishop I; Son & daughter in law, Roger Dale Bishop II & Wendy Carlton Bishop; Daughter & Son in law, Kimberly Michelle Bishop Harrell & Kent Harrison Harrell; Son, Geoffrey Brian Bishop; Grandchildren, Gavin Dale Bishop & Garet Blake Bishop; Brothers, Fred Harold Lyda & Tommy Lee Lyda; & Sisters Lillian Grace Lyda Howington & Nancy Marie Lyda Clemmons.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Charles Lee Lyda, Virginia Pauline Lyda Clemmons, Bobby Lee Lyda, Billy Eugene Lyda, & Carol Edward Lyda.
