Scott was born to Joseph Scott Vincent Sr. and Margaret “Willene” Yost Vincent on August 17, 1941. He graduated from Greensboro Senior High School in 1959. Scott went on to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wake Forest College before earning a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He served his country in the United States Army Artillery, holding the position of First Lieutenant. Eventually earning an Enrolled Agent (EA) certification, Scott owned the local branch of Ledger Plus in Clemmons, North Carolina, providing accounting services to the community.
For most, Scott was a man of few words but he was proud of his family, his business, and his school - a true Demon Deacon supporter to the end. He will be remembered for his love of growing tomatoes (in excess), his sweet tooth for anything chocolate (inherited from his mother), the misadventures with water routinely encountered during family vacations, and, when one was lucky enough to witness, a silly sense of humor.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Willene Vincent, as well as by his sister Margaret Anne Vincent Perry. He leaves behind his wife of fifty two years, JoAnn Vincent; his two daughters Samantha (Brian) Sizemore and Caroline (Barry) Smitherman; his three grandsons Warren and Owen Sizemore, and Colton Smitherman; his sister Dorothy Wilson, as well as several nephews.
The family would like to thank Cadence at Clemmons Assisted Living for being Scott’s second family, as well as Mountain Valley Hospice for the care provided. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Scott’s honor to Wake Forest University at https://giving.wfu.edu/giving/
