Charles was born on February 13th, 1947 to Roy Charles Sink and Rosa Church Sink in Forsyth County. After Charles graduated from East Forsyth High school in 1965 he was drafted into the United States Army and deployed and served in the Vietnam War from 1966-1968
In November 1970, he met the love of his life Wanda Duggins while cruising Stratford Rd in Winston-Salem. Charles & Wanda married in September of 1971. Charles & Wanda welcomed their first daughter Jennifer Lynn, on February 11th 1974, and welcomed another beautiful girl Jinger Rene on November 8th 1978.
Charles retired in October 2021 from Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Charles had a long career in Maintenance Engineering.
Charles was an avid sports fan. He was a diehard fan of Duke (college Basketball) and the LA Dodgers. He enjoyed coaching Little League Softball while his daughter Jinger played, and over the years looked forward to weekly conversations with her about sports. He shared the love of Duke with his daughter Jennifer and enjoyed watching the games together. His love for sports was equally shared with his grandchildren throughout the years.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Rosa Sink, his sister Judith A. Sink(Judy), grandson Anthony Salgado, and great-granddaughter Alora Robertson. He is survived by his wife Wanda Duggins Sink, and their two children, Jennifer Sink Buffkin (Rick) and Jinger Sink Salgado (Elvis). He is also survived by his two younger brothers Bud Sink (Wanda) and Jim Sink (Kim). He leaves behind two bonus granddaughters, Jordan Buffkin Huffman and Dazman Salgado. Three grandsons Kyle and Shane Buffkin, and Jacob Salgado. He also leaves behind 2 great-grandchildren Oaklyn & Cameron.
He will be deeply missed also by several Brother-in-laws, and Sister-in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday evening, April 4 at Frank Vogler & Sons of Clemmons. The Funeral Service will be in the Chapel of Frank Vogler & Sons of Clemmons, Wednesday, April 5 at 2PM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
