Ioma "Kay" Kathryn (Weekley) Dotson

Ioma Kathryn "Kay"(Weekley) Dotson passed away on May 9, 2024, at the age of 85, in Clemmons, NC. She was born on September 19, 1938, in Lost Creek, WV. Kay was a very caring person who was dedicated to her family. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Kay is survived by her son, Greg Dotson (Beth), and daughter, Cathy Higginbotham (Jeff). She will be deeply missed by her sister, Nora Novak, and brother, George Weekley. Grandkids Sarah Kay (Nick), Kelsey Boardman (Charles), Mackenzie Dotson, Kaylee Higginbotham, Samantha Dotson, and Kris Dotson (Ashley) will miss her greatly. Great-grandkids Bryson Boardman, Nolan Kay, Noah Kay, Aubree Kay, Addison Dotson, Kadence Dotson, Lydia Dotson, and Logan Dotson will treasure memories of her.

She is preceded in death by her father, George Fleming Weekley; mother, Tacie Fluharty Weekley; husbands, Marshall Lloyd Dotson and John Tenney; son, Marshall Lloyd Dotson II, sisters Helen Jo Wilt and Ginny Colvin; and brothers, Robert Weekley and John Weekley.

Kay attended Washington Irving High School. She worshipped at Kanawha City and Elkview Church of Christ.

Kay is being cremated, and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Volger Funeral Home and Cremation in Clemmons, NC, is assisting with the arrangements. Kay's kindness and love will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
