In 1963, Connie graduated from Beauty School. She spent the next 55 years working professionally in a salon and the next 4 years after that working as the beautician for her family and friends.
Connie was a master at fishing. Flounder fishing was her favorite. Connie also enjoyed scratch offs and playing bingo. Above all else, Connie loved her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, adoring grandmother and great grandmother, and loyal friend. She will truly be missed.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her great grandson, Zachary Clodfelter. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 64 years, Sherman “Ted” Cass; sons, Duane (Jackie) Cass and Brian (Crystal) Cass; grandchildren, Alan “Trey” (Jordan) Millen, Meredith (Drew) Ausley, Shannon (Will) Bowman, Morgan (Dustin) Clodfelter, Caroline Cass, and Lydia (Nathan) Pope; great grandchildren, Banks Millen, Holland Bowman, Lacey Clodfelter, Carly Clodfelter, and Sadie Pope; siblings, Bonnie (Terry) Heflin, Charles “Bozy” (Betty) Ladd, and Ralph (Rita) Ladd; sister-in-law and bingo partner, Wilma Teague; best friend, Mary Holder; and numerous nieces and nephews, and loved ones.
A visitation will be held at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home in Clemmons on Sunday from 6pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2pm at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Union Grove. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at 1pm. Connie will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made in Connie's honor to Sweet Home Baptist Church.
