Dreyer, William R. "Bud" Age 92, of Palmetto, Florida passed away on March 2, 2019. He was born in Englewood, NJ on December 16, 1926 to Herman William and Stella Adele (Doss) Dreyer. The family moved to St. Petersburg in 1931. Bud lived in the Tampa Bay area most of the rest of his life, with time away only for military service and college.
Bud graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1943 and shortly after, joined the Navy and was an “aviation cadet” until end of WW II. He then attended and graduated from the University of Florida (1949) with a degree in Building Construction. He enjoyed a long and successful career in construction, working primarily for Florida Power Corporation.
He had numerous outside interests. He continued his love for flying after the war and enjoyed many years in the air and at the airport with his friends. He also loved to fish, leading to many adventures with friends and his son across Florida, in the Everglades, North Carolina, as well as Texas.
Supporting his family and their interests, especially his wife and daughter's love of horses and fishing with his son, and grandson Taylor, were especially important to him.
He and his wife Connie of 66 years, were former residents of St. Petersburg, Florida before moving to Palmetto.
William was predeceased by his parents; a brother Richard and a sister Gloria. He is survived by his Beloved wife of many years Constance “Connie” of Bradenton; one sister Norma (Skip) Gauding of Tallahassee, FL.; one son, William “Jeffrey” (Zoann) of Houston, TX; one daughter , “Linda” Lurayne (Larry) Kratochwill of Myakka City, FL; one grandson, Taylor Dreyer and one great-grand daughter Sabre Dreyer, both of Houston, TX.
He will be sadly missed by all, but memories of him will continue through all the lives he touched.
