Spiros was born on July 28, 1943 in New York City, the son of George and Katherine (Katina) Tsimbinos. Spiros was predeceased by his siblings Argie, John, Mary, and Leo. He was the beloved uncle of Steven Tsimbinos and Melanie Tsimbinos Wortmann.
Spiros was a graduate of the City University of New York and New York University School of Law. He was an accomplished criminal lawyer, specializing in criminal appeals. Having worked for the Queens District Attorney’s Office and in private practice, as well as a lecturer for bar associations, community organizations, and law schools, Spiros was considered one of the premiere criminal appellate attorneys in the State of New York.
Spiros loved the United States and our democratic system of government. He believed in the values of this country and strived to do his civic duty to help the system progress for the interests of all. His active civic life was always evident.
He served as President 97th St. Block Association, Elmhurst, New York, 1975-1979. Legal advisor, board directors Jackson Heights Senior Citizens Center, New York City, 1975. Board of trustees Queens Supreme Court Library, New York City, 1993-1995.

Lyon award 1988).
At the close of his career, he continued to support scores of charities and civic organizations that sought to protect our civic democratic ideals and values. And he remained close to his Greek Orthodox roots, by supporting his local churches, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater, and St. Raphael, Nicholas & Irene, in Palm Harbor, maintaining membership in both communities, and generously supporting their respective building and other endeavors.
