Ronald Louis Dick

Ronald Louis Dick, 69, passed peacefully in his sleep on April 30, 2017 in his home in Clearwater. Ron was born on July 30, 1947 in Storm Lake, Iowa. He is survived by his loving wife Donna, two daughters, Ashley Herring and Amanda Daulton, brother Larry Dick and three grandchildren, Lila, Rhett and Cora Herring. Ron has been reunited in heaven with his parents, Rose and William Dick, his sisters Phyllis Schmitt and Marilyn Dick and his brother Eugene Dick. Ron grew up on a farm in Early, Iowa with his four siblings and spent his time raising animals and playing sports. He played baseball, basketball and golf and went on to play basketball at Buena Vista College and University of Northern Iowa. Upon graduating college he briefly taught and coached basketball. In 1971 Ron decided to move to Florida to pursue his passion for golf. He met Donna in 1977 on the golf course and they were married shortly after. Ron was a municipal bond broker for 30 years. Ron enjoyed being outdoors, playing golf, fishing and grilling. What he enjoyed most was spending time with his family. Ron’s personality was infectious. He was fun loving, easy going and made such a lasting impression on everyone he met. Ron loved to laugh and that brought so much joy to him and those around them. Ron was the salt of the earth and God has gained an angel. Funeral Mass will be 1:30pm Thursday May 4th at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, 2405 Phillippe Parkway, Safety Harbor, FL. 34695 In lieu of flowers please donate to these charities that had an impact on Ron.
