Marie Ryan

Born Marie Joyce Weigand in Forest Hills, Long Island, New York, to the late Matthew J. and Marie W. Weigand, she was the youngest of four daughters and attended Forest Hills High School and Bennett College. She married Daniel D. Rhodes and moved to Larchmont, NY, where their three children were born. They were members of the Larchmont Yacht Club. The family relocated to Sea Ranch Lakes, FL, in 1976 and Clearwater, FL in 1995.

Several years after her husband’s death, she married Thomas B. Ryan of Clearwater. They relocated to Tarpon Springs, where Marie continued to live after his death. She was a member of Junior League chapters of Larchmont, Fort Lauderdale and Clearwater-Dunedin. She enjoyed attending church services at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Tarpon Springs, playing bridge, and Potpourri luncheons with fellow Junior League Sustainers. Marie was proud of her German heritage and loved schnauzers. She was a friend to everyone and full of life, stories and good nature.

She is survived by her daughter, Marie Eide (Mark), and sons Daniel (Terri) Rhodes and James (Natalia) Rhodes, and grandsons Daniel Rhodes and William Hickman. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held Sunday October 29th 3pm Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park 2860 Sunset Point Rd. Clearwater, Florida 33759. A Celebration of Life is planned for the future.

In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations to be made to St. Timothy's Lutheran church in Tarpon Springs.
