Sokolowski, Leonard John “Len,” 84 of Palm Harbor Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Hospice House Brookside of Palm Harbor on July 14, 2023. Len was born in Syracuse, New York, on April 27th, 1939, to Joseph and Harriet Sokolowski. He married his beloved wife, Roberta “Robin” in 1961 and celebrated 46 years of marriage. Len was well known within the insurance community during his 50-year plus career.
He is preceded by his wife Robin and sister Barbara “Barb” Burns of Liverpool New York.
He is survived by his brother, Thomas “Tom” Sokolowski of Raleigh North Carolina, sons Kenneth (Nancy) Sokolowski of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, James (Shannon) Sokolowski of Palm Harbor, Florida, daughter Sharon (Paul) White of Palm Harbor, Florida and his four grandchildren Lauren Sokolowski, Paul J. White, Matthew Sokolowski, Alexander White and his beloved nieces and nephews.
Len was an active member of the Syracuse JAYCEES and volunteered on many projects within the community. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, and thoroughly enjoyed entertaining his friends and family. Len attended the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Syracuse, New York and was highly active in the Basilica growing up. He also attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Syracuse, New York. Len served his country proudly in the United States Air force National Guard during the 1961 Berlin Crisis War within the communication division.
Len moved to Florida in 1980 with his family where he continued his insurance career and became a congregant of Our Lady of Lordes Catholic Church in Dunedin, Florida. Later, Len often attended All Saints Catholic Church in Clearwater Florida. He was an avid supporter and volunteered his services to the Saint Michael Shrine, Tarpon Springs, Florida.
Len loved camping at Wellesley Islands New York State Park, swimming and boating at the St. Lawrence River, and the Gulf of Mexico, and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. His life touched many and he will be missed by all.

A visitation for Leonard will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, FL 33759. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 2853 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, FL 33759. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Curlew Hills Memorial Park, 1750 Curlew Rd, Palm Harbor, FL 34683.
