Mr. Smith was born on January 9, 1953 in Brooksville, Florida to parents James Patrick and Mary Smith (nee Owens).
John worked as an Engineering Inspector for over 20 years for the City of Largo, before retiring in 2015.
Survivors include son, Shaun (Heather) Smith of Marysville, OH; brother, Jimmy Smith of Brooksville, FL; granddaughter, Hayleigh Smith; niece, Sandy Smith of Brooksville, FL; and nephews; Pat and Mike Smith of Brooksville, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home on Saturday, February 26th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Gathering and fellowship will occur from 12:00 to 12:45. A program to celebrate Jack’s life will start at 12:45 followed by a receiving line, lunch and more fellowship.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Jack’s name to a charity like St Jude, Humane Society or a Veterans based charity.
