Joan Jacobs, 83, of Lutz, Florida passed on March 08, 2021. She was born in New York City, NY to Sophie and Jack Miller on February 9, 1939.
Joan, a graduate from Hunter College with a Master’s degree in education, had a full career as a New York City school teacher. She was well published by the New York State reading association and other conferences of note. Joan loved tennis and golf. Joan also became a travel agent and enjoyed travel all over the world.
Joan was married to Al Jacobs in 1983 and widowed in 2019. Joan is survived by one daughter, Andi Kaufman and husband Tom Longstaff of Pittsburgh, PA, one son, Jeff Jacobs and wife Sue of Chicago, IL. and her daughter-in-law Mary Ellen Wilson and husband Rob of New Jersey. Joan is survived by her brother David Miller and wife Judy, niece Allison Miller and great nephew Nate Miller. Joan has four grandchildren, Isaac Longstaff, Mark Longstaff, Danielle Jacobs, and Matthew Jacobs and one great-grandson, Jaxon Longstaff. Joan has many friends from her time in New York and Lutz and will be dearly missed.
