Gary Tikriti, 81, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024. Born in Iraq, Gary came to the United States on a mathematics scholarship and played soccer at Marquette University. He later shared his passion for knowledge as a statistics professor at the University of South Florida. He was a proud fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and Buccaneers and enjoyed swimming and playing backgammon with his family.
Above all, he was a devoted husband to Linda Tikriti for 34 years, a proud father to Nicole Tikriti and Olivia Cessna, a new grandfather to Aiden Cessna, and a loving brother to Talib Tikriti. His gentle spirit, wisdom, and deep love for his family will be forever missed.
A graveside service for Gary will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759.
