Charles Henry Windeknecht

Charles Henry Windeknecht, 1927-2011. Beloved husband of Helen; father of Nancy Dashcund,(David Dashcund) Janet Windeknecht (Harry Brey) and Chuck Windeknecht (Dorothy Regan); grandfather of Meagan Dashcund, shared a full life with his extended families and many friends in New Jersey, where he was born and raised, in New York where he vacationed and retired, and in Dunedin Florida where he enjoyed is last years, died with God's grace on Thursday, May 26, 2011.

Charlie was a dedicated citizen wherever he lived; born in Tenafly, New Jersey, he married Helen, who he met at Willow Run in Cresskill, and after marriage, moved to Closter where he and Helen raised three children and he served the borough as a councilman and Borough Manager before retiring in 1985. His years in Closter included dedicated service to the school system as a school board member and to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he worshipped and served as an elder. Long Lake, New York, his favorite place to relax became his home, along with winters in Dunedin, Florida, from 1985-2007, and then he and Helen moved permanently to Dunedin. Charlie touched many lives through his work and his commitment to being a good citizen and a proud American. His integrity will be remembered always, as well as his dedication to his wife and family. Memorial Service will be Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2:00Pm at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL 33764.
