Thomas R. Royer, 77, of Clearfield, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Mountain Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on March 5, 1944 in Clearfield, PA; a son of the late Alphonse F. Royer and Ida Lee (Antes) Royer.
Mr. Royer was a parts manager at Butler Trucking until his retirement.
Along with his wife and family, Tom owned and operated Tommy's Soda Express. His soda concession stand was a fixture at several PA fairs for over 40 years.
He enjoyed hunting, football, especially the Steelers, watching movies, and FOX News. He could often be seen walking around town and enjoyed sitting in the sun. In his spare time he worked on carpentry projects.
Survivors include three daughters: Wendi Chua and her husband David of Bethlehem, PA, Casey Trithart and her husband Chad of Bellefonte, and Kelly Royer and her husband Marc Berringer of Clearfield; six grandsons: Matt and Nick Chua, Jordan Royer, and Izaak, Hunter, and Dylan Trithart; one sister, Pat Albert; and one brother, Ernie Royer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Madeline L. “Maddie” Royer, whom he married November 3, 1967 and who passed away on August 6, 2019; two brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Denise Haskins officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 6-8pm and Saturday, July 10, 2021 from noon until the time of funeral services.
