Mae R. McPherson

Mae was born on May 17, 1923 in Clearfield, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Sunderlin) Rhone.

She was a 1941 graduate of Clearfield High School. On October 18, 1943 she wed James L. McPherson in Buffalo, NY. Mae’s greatest joy in life was being a wife and mother.

While living in Clearfield, Mae was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield and belonged to Bridge clubs in Clearfield and Penfield, PA.

Mae is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Ann Hoover and her husband, Richard of Indiana, PA, four grandchildren, Teri Woodings and her husband, Thomas and Stephanie Murray and her husband, Kenneth all of Penn Hills, PA, Christopher Foltin, and his wife Megan of Mt. Lebanon, PA, Bradley Foltin and his wife, Laine of Clearfield, PA and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Eleanor Rupp of Idaho and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, J. Richard McPherson, one brother, Donald Rhone, and two sisters, Thelma Farrell and Clara Jean Abernathy.

Friends will be received at The Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 10-12 noon followed by her funeral service at 12 noon in the funeral home. Reverends Doug & Karen Rhone will be officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
