He was born January 30, 1937 in Clearfield, the son of Kenneth and Grace (Wisor) Knepp.
Mr. Knepp was a 1955 graduate of Clearfield High School in the carpentry class.
Leo first worked with his father building houses in South Park, Clearfield. He then worked for Carns Brothers Construction, NARCO and as an installer for Sears. Most recently he was still working at the business he owned and operated since 1993, Knepp Fencing.
Mr. Knepp was a member of the Clearfield Alliance Church.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era.
Leo is survived by his wife, Althea (Luzier) Knepp whom he married November 28, 1957 at the Clearfield Alliance Church, three children; Gregory Knepp, Michelle McCloskey and her husband Mike all of Clearfield and his fresh air daughter, Melissa Cipollaro of New York, two grandchildren; Zachary McCloskey (Sarah Myers) of Bellefonte and Aaron McCloskey who is currently a student at Slippery Rock University, five sisters; Garnett VanMeter, Wanda Hoover both of Clearfield, Louise Lowe (Herb) of Houtzdale, Joan Green of Woodland and Kathie Cutler (George) of Clearfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Norma Pry and Lucy Judge and twin brothers; Billy and Benny Knepp.
Leo was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. There was no interfering with him watching the Steelers and he passed his love of sports on to his youngest grandson and the sports talk between the two was endless. In honor of his love for the Steelers and our love of him, please feel free to sport your Steelers attire as we celebrate his life.
Funeral Services will be held at the Clearfield Alliance Church on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Duane A. White and Rev. Robert B. Goldenberg co-officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the church by the Clearfield Honor Guard. Interment will be in Stoneville Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
