Lee graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1949.
On September 19, 1953 he married the former C. Ann Shaffer who preceded him in death on August 19, 2012.
He is survived by his two children, Leanne M. Gill Peters and her husband, Bob of Clearfield and Michael Allen Gill and his wife, Joan of Clearfield; grandchildren, Andrew R. (Diana Dutra) Peters, Adrianne M. (Nick) Sipes, step-grandchildren, Rob (Abby) Billotte, Chad (Maggie) Billotte, and great-grandchildren, Sloane and Drew Peters, Kade and Deklan Sipes, Oliver and Lucy Billotte.
Lee led a full, vibrant life loving his Lord, his country, and his family. He served in the US Army and the PA National Guard during the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Master Sargent. He was co-owner and operator of Gill Brothers Electric Repair. Lee was a member of Grace United Presbyterian Church, and a founding member of the Deacons of the Mountain Top Larger Parish. He was a member of the Glen Richey Fire Hall, the American Legion Post #6, the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club, and a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Shrine.
Lee raised beagles, Christmas trees, and pheasants. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and skiing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, running what was lovingly called “Gill’s Rec Center”. In his later years, he lit up when he visited with his great-grandchildren. He will surely be missed, but left a fine legacy for his family.
Due to his love of serving others, the family asks that memorial gifts be donated to the Mountain Top Larger Parish Deacons in care of Susan Barger, 421 Forest Drive, Clearfield, PA 16830 or Pine Grove Bethel Church Cemetery, 417 McClincy Road, Olanta, PA 16863.
The family would like to thank the staff of Christ the King Manor for the excellent care provided to Lee during his final years.
