Susan Renee Turner, 55, of Angier, NC died at home peacefully on Wednesday, November 15th. She was born in Wilmington, NC on October 30th 1968 to Nancy Louise (Minton) Ganey and John Vernon Ganey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Louise (Minton) Ganey and her stepfather, Raymond Lee Creekmore Jr. Renee was the oldest of four sisters and is survived by Dee Horrell, Marie Ganey and Greta Shultz.
When asked what she was most proud of at her 55th birthday, Renee named the accomplishments of her three children.
She is survived by her three children Amber Evans, Aaron Turner and Ashley Porter, their spouses, as well as her grandchildren, Tegan, Anderson and Grady. She was known to them all as Nana and deeply treasured her time spent with them.
Renee also loved her two chihuahua-french bulldogs who are currently aged nine and eleven. They slept with her from day one of bringing them home as puppies. She loved to spoil them, as they still get chicken and green beans in their dinner bowl nightly.
Renee was passionate about being an employee at the DMV and dedicated over a decade there. From day one starting in a completely new field she worked hard to learn new skills, assist those who needed help in the community and brought organization to her team. She was quickly promoted to a supervisor and then transitioned to a manager position. Many employees in her unit called her their "work mom" and knew she was just a few steps away, down the hall, anytime they were having a rough day and just needed to talk.
Renee will always be remembered as someone who saw the best in everyone, did not complain, had unwavering Faith, and deeply loved her family, especially her three grandchildren. We could not have asked for a better mom, Nana, sister, friend. A piece of her will remain inside every person she loved, mentored and supported.
A private memorial service will be held for Renee for close family and friends.
