James Edwin Creech passed away Thursday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center
surrounded by loved ones. Born in Johnston County he was the seventh son of
Mallie and Myrtle Creech. He is a veteran of the US Airforce serving time during
the Korean War. He also spent most of his life working in various grocery stores
until he retired at 59. Later in life he had a vending service called Creech’s
Vending. He was a member of Brownings United Methodist Church during the last
24 years.
A service to honor James’ life will be held at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton,
NC at 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Burial will be held at Shiloh
Church in Garner, NC. Reverend Arthur Warren and Pastor Scotty Johnson will be officiating
He is survived by a daughter Kaye Matthews, son James E Creech Jr. and Sherry.
Step Children: Angie (Don) Markovetz, Pat Ayscue, Bill (Pam) Higgins, Mike (Lee
Ann) Higgins and Ron (Martina) Higgins.
Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Many
Nephews, Nieces and Cousins, and Floppy the Cat ☺.
