Elizabeth “Betty” Peele Duncan, 68, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late William R., Sr. and Madeline Stephenson Peele, Betty was born January 9, 1948. She persevered through sickness much of her adult life, always fighting with grace. She loved her family unconditionally, never met a stranger, and when you saw her, you could always expect a warm hug. She is survived by her son, Louis Murphey, of Clayton; daughters, Lisa Hendrickson and husband, Rich, of Mount Holly and Amy Tart, of Clayton; granddaughter, Elizabeth Tart, of Clayton; and her two beloved cats, Smokey and Brandy. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 5:00pm, in the McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 US 70 Business HWY W, Clayton, NC 27520.
