FOUR OAKS – Cynthia “Cindy” Denise Stephenson Powers, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2020.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 11, 2021 at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton.
Cindy was born March 7, 1959 in Johnston County to Coy Max Stephenson and Clennis Smith Stephenson of Garner. Most recently she had worked as a counselor for the state correctional system. Cindy enjoyed spending her days caring for and playing with her granddaughters. She loved a good book or a movie and coffee with her friends. She got the most enjoyment out of helping others.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her two daughters, Alicia Abarca (husband, Vince Abarca) and Lori Powers; grandchildren, Skyler, Zoe and Thalia Abarca as well as Madelyn Geddie; Sister, Sonja Carter.
