Cathy was born in Syracuse, NY on May 6, 1959. She graduated from Newport Pacific High School in Scranton, PA.
Cathy was a passionate animal advocate and served as a Certified Wildlife Rehabilitator for over 13 years in Johnston county for the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission. She successfully rehabilitated countless wild animals and consistently advocated for rescue programs all over the state.
Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Thomas Wanamaker; her grandmother, Ann S. Lynch; sister, Dawn Wanamaker and nephew, Ryan.
Cathy is survived by her son, John Cook; husband, Mark; sisters, Debbie Faga and her husband Tom, Marilee Broadway and her husband Doug, Danine White, Kimberly Hayes and her husband Fred; brothers, Thomas J. Wanamaker, Jr. and Christian Wanamaker. She is also survived by nine nephews; godmother, Ann Harper; a daughter; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 6-8pm at McLaurin Funeral Home. The family will schedule a celebration of life for Cathy at a later date.
