Billy Edward Capps

Billy Edward Capps, a veteran of the US Navy, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the age of 77. Eddie was born on October 23, 1944 in Johnston County to late John Isaac and Mildred Davis Capps and worked for the Department of Transportation for 35 years before his retirement. He was a wonderful family man and friend to everyone. He was always willing to lend a hand to his family and neighbors when needed. An avid UNC fan, Eddie enjoyed working in his workshop on small projects and collecting tools, family vacations and loved playing with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Capps; daughter, Jennifer Hester and her husband, Travis of Garner; son, Cliff Garrett and his wife, Stephanie of Garner; grandchildren, Jake Hester and Ramsey Garrett; sisters, Carolyn Parrish of Wilson’s Mills, Betty Moye and her husband, Mark of Smithfield.

A funeral service celebrating Eddie’s life will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 3:00pm in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the entombment following at Pinecrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
