Betty Edwards Wilson

Betty Edwards Wilson, 93, of Clayton passed away peacefully at The Enclave private care home in Clayton on the night of Wednesday, July 31, 2024. She was born in Johnston County on July 2, 1931, to the late Liddey Right (L.R.) Edwards and Viola Lee Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Q. Wilson, beloved son, Paul Daniel (Danny) Barbour Sr., brothers, Jessie Stewart and Edward Allen (Bud) Edwards and his wife, Delores Edwards.

Ms. Betty is survived by her grandson, Paul Daniel (Dan) Barbour, Jr. and his wife, Miranda Catellier Barbour, nieces, Sharon Edwards Hamm and Judy Edwards Poole, nephew, Roger Edwards and several great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Betty will be held Monday, August 5, 2024 at 2:00pm in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home. The entombment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty's name may be made to a cause that Betty was very passionate about: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
