Betty Jean Perry Hargis, age 85, of Jupiter, FL, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Betty Jean was born in Wake County on May 14, 1937 to the late Cleevie and Selma Martin Perry and was a 1955 graduate of Clayton High School.
Betty Jean is survived by her daughter, Linda Cassulo and her husband, Andre' of Jupiter, FL; granddaughters, Emily Cassulo of Chattanooga, TN and Gina Cassulo of Jupiter, FL. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon Hargis.
Betty Jean and family were longtime residents of Clayton and she was a devout Christian and lover of God's Word. She was the most kind, loving, unselfish and giving mother, grandmother and friend...a gentle soul with never a cross word.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 2:00pm in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00pm. Burial will follow the services at Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton.
